Our Mission
Tampa Bay Watch is dedicated to fostering a healthy Tampa Bay watershed through community-driven restoration projects, education programs, and outreach initiatives.
A nonprofit organization founded in 1993, Tampa Bay Watch leads habitat restoration and protection activities throughout the year. Thousands of volunteers contribute their time to help the bay recover from environmental challenges and ensure its long-term health.
People of all ages participate in salt marsh plantings, storm drain markings, oyster bar creation, coastal cleanups, and wildlife protection. This collective effort is environmental stewardship in its purest form. Click here to discover the story of Tampa Bay Watch.
About the Discovery Center
The Tampa Bay Watch Discovery Center is Tampa Bay Watch’s educational space on the St. Pete Pier. Our displays highlight the local ecosystem and Tampa Bay Watch’s past and present work to restore it. Visit us to explore interactive exhibits, participate in daily programs led by our educators, and discover what’s in the touch tank. Boat-based wildlife boat tours depart regularly from our slip on the Pier.
The Discovery Center is a significant new addition to the education and conservation efforts of Tampa Bay Watch. The facility allows us to vastly expand our reach to local, national, and international visitors. Our goal is to advance environmental stewardship by engaging, informing, and inspiring visitors with our success story about the recovery of Tampa Bay.
